Offering this rare trilingual signed copy of monograph/art catalog "Les tapisseries de / The Tapestries of / Bildteppiche von Fritz Riedl," by Claus Pack. Paris & Vienna: Willy Verkauf (aka Andre Veron, his artist name), n.d. [1962], 1st edition. Signed and inscribed on the ffep by the artist Fritz Riedl to a fellow artist: "To Vernon Cheek 25 April 1969." Additional signature and heart drawing below Riedl's: "Pass on to Ali" with undecipherable signature. Glossy hardcover filled with plate illustrations of Riedl's work, a few of the plates in color. This book is an early retrospective documenting the modernist, polychrome tapestry weaves designed and hand-woven by the renowned Austrian textile artist, Fritz Riedl (1923–2012). Overall condition is Good. Binding is secure. Exterior shows average bumping and wear with some board exposure at corners and spine ends and peeling to laminate. Interior has some mild age toning, most prominent on the endpapers. There are two small stray paper abrasions near the gutter between pp. 54-55, probably from binding glue seepage, which did damage the "Kronos" illustration a little. Else pages are clean and unmarked, without tears or creases. A truly unique copy with the Riedl signature and associated inscriptions! [C2].…
