From the library of David Lodge, inscribed to the translators: "To Maurice and Yvonne, with best wishes and many, many thanks for a fine translation, as always David", but for reasons unknown never presented to them. The book is firmly bound in the dramatically illustrated card wraps, which are lightly marked and rubbed. The text block is slightly marked and toned. An excellent association copy, marking an important relationship in Lodge's life, the Couturiers were long-time friends and translated the majority of his works into French, with great success.
