An Intriguing Journey into the Wilds of Africa by a former East African Professional Hunter who guided numerous men and women, celebrities like Stewart Granger and Bing Crosby included, helping them to bag small game to Africa s Big 5, until Kenya declared no hunting in the early 1970s. At this time Terry Mathews developed his interest in sculpting animals in action and became internationally famous for his works. Here he describes his association with great African hunters and Game Wardens including J.A. Hunter. A delightful read, profusely illustrated with vintage photographs and a painting by Bob Kuhn depicting the scene when the author was tossed up in the air by a furious mother Rhino while he accompanied Peter Beard on a photographic/Video Safari. Large format, Oblong Size, 11x9 , 262 pages, the First and only edition, printed on high quality stock, inscribed & Signed by the author. See images.
