Their names are Elvin (El) and Jeanne Arnold. --- FROM THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS, this article on El's obituary: . "ARNOLD, ELVIN FRANCES, "El", born 1-28-27 to Harry J. and Helen Arnold in Valparaiso, IN was promoted to glory (his words) 11-11-07; now in the presence of his Lord Jesus. His earthly body was given to UT Southwestern Medical School. He is survived by his "favorite" wife of 58 yrs, Jeanne. - Beloved by many for his sense of humor, ever-positive outlook, organizational/leadership skills, El was active in business and public service. In 1963, he and Jeanne opened Arnold's of Dallas, the pioneer craft store in the Southwest; the "haven for creative women" became the "anchor" of Arnold Square, a quaint European village shopping center. In 1985 he founded DAD serving as president of Dallas Assoc for Decency. This all-volunteer army of concerned citizens substantially reduced illegal porn. He served on board of Union Gospel Mission, teaching many Bible studies there and elsewhere.
