First UK edition hard back binding in publisher's original colour illustrated paper-covered boards, vibrant colour illustrated lining papers. Oblong quarto. 9¼'' x 10''. A little darkening of the white paper to the spine ends. Very Good condition book in torn and professionally repaired dust wrapper with age darkening of the white paper across the top and bottom edges, not price clipped, 18s. Triple signed to the verso of front free end paper, being nicely SIGNED with blue fountain ink by Sendak in 1967 with a small drawing of a dog 'With very best wishes Maurice Sendak', below which is inscribed by Edward Ardizzone 'Maurice Sendak sent me this after reading 'The Little Girl and the Tiny Doll'! This was written and illustrated by Edward and Aingelda Ardizzone (Edward Ardizzone's daughter-in-law), SIGNED by 'Aingelda Ardizzone.' From the private library and estate of Edward Ardizzone.
