In Harry Litinas's stunning new allegory, What Happened When Technology Went Before Morality? readers learn that, in Canada, in the United States, and in the rest of the world, "We are using technology in the wrong way. We are not," Litinas says, "taking morality into account." High unemployment and a generation of lost talents are the results of our immorality.
The Book, which contains elements of fact and fiction with a clash of religion thrown in, introduces two central characters, Dr. Solakis and Dr. Clementine, leading scientists at a Montreal university. Deciding to visit a car-manufacturing plant, a bank, a hospital, a school, and a convalescent home, among other places, they interview employees, customers, patients, and the elderly, concluding that modern technology today fails to work well because of "the lack of human compassion" in all these places. They are not well received when they present the results of their research at a meeting of leading scientists in New York. Yet in the end, as the crisis they've been discussing comes into being, people band together to deal with it. And when they do, things begin to take an unexpected turn in the right direction.

About the Author
Harry Litinas is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, with a major in political science and sociology. It took him some twenty-five years to do the necessary research and complete the writing of this book.
A maintenance worker in a church near his home in Brossard, Quebec, Canada, the author has also been an office clerk, a security guard, and a waiter. He feels very strongly that the immoral use of modern technology has robbed him, and countless others, of a chance to use their talents. He says, "Like millions of other people across North American and around the world, I have simply been told there is no job."
