Tan cloth and orange boards. Quarto. Dust jacket. Illustrated. Inscribed at length by Stevenson with an original cartoon of guests sleeping in tents. Stevenson is a noted children's book illustrator and longtime "New Yorker" contributor. The ancient and subtle duel between host and visitor is the subject of this book. It is an alphabet of standard- and sub-standard- weekend situations, i.e. the football weekend, the sailing weekend and the skiing weekend. A good copy with some spotting to the boards and some cover wear. The text has a musty odor from attic storage but is very good with some light foxing.
