3" binder with Bulletins from J. E. Baker's Weather Forecasts' Inc Long Range Forecasts for Commercial Uses, 1946-1949. Maps and diagrams in the first part are laced with memos from various principals associated with the service, including H. E. Baker, Bill Hubbard and others. Also with many testimonials and reviews from industry and business customers of the service. At the front of the packet are 5 letters signed in ink to Minnesota "Magus" Carl Weschke of Llewellyn publishing house, introducing him to the service and attaching a sample forecast chart for SE Minnesota for August 1949. Following that is an extensive outline of the Weather Services offered, a short survey and an extensive outline of Raymond H. Wheeler's comparative "Organizmic vs Mechanistic Culture" chart (with instructions on "How To Study and Prepare to Discuss a Problem" using 'A Reasoning Chart'.) Then follows an introduction to Wheeler's 20 years of research on The Influence of the Weather Trends and Cycles upon Human Affairs throughout History, Today and in Forecast'. The second half of the issues in the packet, are labeled "The The Influence of Weather Trends and Cycles upon Human Affairs." (NB: The order of these issues is a bit hard to determine. There may be duplicates.) This topic was of special interest to Weschke. Some of the issues bear his stamp. Laid in at the rear are Weschke's notes which appear to be from a class that he took from Wheeler, with a syllabus (1948-49) for study of cycles in the "Psychology of Human Relations", and his exam book. Wheeler's innovative work is published in "Climate: The Key To Understanding Business Cycles" (Revised & Edited by Michael Zahorchak), which summarizes Raymond H. Wheeler?s extensive research with long climatic cycles and their relationship to the business cycle. In the 1930?s Wheeler began a lifetime study that analyzed world climate and cultural activities back to the dawn of recorded civilization. He also charted "11 Patterns of War." Wheeler got his PhD from Clark, was a Professor of Psychology at the University of Kansas from 1925-1947 where He was known for his research on climatology and its relationship to human behavior as well as his work on Gestalt psychology. He was Professor of Psychology and Philosophy at the Babson School of Business Administration in Wellesley. with a team of 200,he carried out the research that would become the baseline for modern climate change research. This packet is rare source material, showing how he presented his ideas to be applied to business and human affairs. Wheeler's papers are in the Kenneth Spencer Research Library Archival Collections.
