This is a quite nice copy of Schulberg's book that was inspired by his Academy Award winning screenplay, On The Waterfront, which garnered many awards and rave reviews. Pages are age-tanned, which is expected of the high acid content in the paper used in a book of this age (1955). Interior has no marks and is clean and solid. Possibly never read. The speckled muslin covered boards are clean with a trace of shelf-wear to bottom edges. The dust jacket is intact, and the lamination is wholly intact. There's mild shelf-wear to all bottom and top edges. The image on the jacket is a picture that intentionally uses a soiled and smudged image, so it's hard to see what soil might be involved in the jacket itself. It's possible there's a damp stain to top of spine. In total, a solid copy. AUTHOR'S AUTOGRAPH is laid in: "With every good wish - Budd Schulberg". Dated Nov. 20, 1977. Seller Inventory # 000919
