Published in1899 this is the First Edition of this book on Sir Humphrey Kynaston, The Robin Hood of Shropshire, who reputedly lived in a cave on the sandstone hill in Nesscliffe, bound in the original gilt decorated cloth, the book measures 8 inches by 5 inches approx, 375 pages, with seventeen pages of illustrations. The covers have noticeable signs of wear, noticeable edge rubbing, some bowing to rear board, small hole in rear cover, boards generally darkened and rubbed, internally page edge remain untimed, foxing and occasional mild handling marks, some cracking to inner joints though binding still firm. Showing signs of wear and age but remains an acceptable serviceable example of the scarce first edition, this copy being inscribed by the author on the front endpaper. Seller Inventory # 004497
