120p octavo. A fine copy in a very good dust jacket except for a small hole in the jacket along the spine. Inscribed by Brewster "For Gladys Benjamin Goddard - Dorothy Brewster New York March 1960" Goddard was a biographer of Enrico Caruso. Dust Jacket has the first edition jacket from the first American edition by New York University Press the reason as both the UK and the US edition was printed in the UK by George Allen and Unwin and only the bottom of the titlenpage was the distinction between the 2 printings which was a year apart.
