Item description from seller

1st ed., 12mo blue cloth. 169 pp. A historical drama of he dark days at Valley Forge when the fortunes of the rebellious colonists were at their lowest ebb. A splendid picture of Washington and his defiant troops. Good+; a very good, clean tight copy but covers lightly faded at extremities; d/w is fair with darkened, rubbed spine, a large 4” closed tear on back, and several smaller open tears front and back. Doubly signed and inscribed by Anderson with a flat signature on the title page and inscription to Hollywood screenwriter Frank Partos on the half-title page. Partos shared an Academy Award nomination for the Snake Pit (1948) and co-wrote the film noir classic The House on Telegraph Hill.

Store description

Books, Historical Documents, Autographs, and Ephemera -- Burns Bizarre specializes in the eclectic. We are a merger of two former booksellers 'Books on Main' [Ventura CA] and Armadillo & Dicker [Sacramento CA.] Most of our stock is rare or out-of-print - dating from the 18th century to the present. We do not sell reprint editions or book club editions unless they differ from the original in some way that makes them independently collectible. The name Burns' Bizarre comes from one of our father's enterprises in Chicago during the 1930's -- we are proud to continue his tradition of what is now eighty years of selling things people could easily live without.

Specialty

Rare and out-of print for the most part. Sometimes more recent books that are difficult to obtain.
