Item description from seller

Follett Publishing Co., Chicago, IL. 1964. 239 pages. First edition, first printing, stated. Signed and inscribed by author Hal Higdon, on the front endpaper. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Pages and endpapers are bright and clean, as is maroon cloth. Book's only flaw is light bumping to bottom panel edges, otherwise about fine. Original DJ with $5.95 price intact on flap. DJ shows minor light rubbing and soiling. A most attractive copy of the book that presents the facts of the famous case, and presents them to you, to help you answer the question, was Dr. Mudd an unknowing innocent victim of circumstance in upholding his Hippocratic Oath in resetting the broken leg of a man who would later come to be, presidential assassin, John Wilkes Booth, or was Dr. Mudd a knowing conspirator, in the plot to assassinate the president? You decide. First edition, first printing, signed. NF/VG.
