Personal observations of birds in Oxford, Ohio. Signed presentation from Brooks on the front endpaper, presenting her mother's own copy of this book: "To one I love- I give my mother's book, Jennie Brooks. San Diego, Cal. September 24, 1920." With the ink name (in another hand) "Donna Lee's" on the same page. Also laid in is an old black & white snapshot of an empty thread spool hanging in a bird's nest. Written on the verso in ink, in Brooks hand, is: "Mrs. Marvin- the spool the cardinal carried. Oxford, Ohio June, 1900- Front of nest- In our yard- home." Very Good (covers & gilt bright with small smudge on rear cover; contents clean & tight). A nice copy with an interesting history. $125.00. Seller Inventory # 2636
