Item description from seller

See photos for condition details. Hardcover, light green cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Signed by the photographer and collaborator M. U. Bates on both the title page and front end page, which also carries a gift inscription to H. E. McFaddin. Also included is a letter from 1933 from Mr. Bates to Mr. McFadden. External cover the book shows bumping and some soiling along with a couple light wrinkles to the cloth. Internal binding is good at both boards but there is some thin cracks starting in a couple areas of the book. All photographs have been verified as being present though the one at page 186 extends outside the page block slightly which is caused wear to the edges over the decades. Paper is toned due to age and there is some spotting and foxing present.
