First edition of Seton-Thompson's illustrated work on the Sandhill wilderness. Octavo, original pictorial cloth with gilt titles to the spine, front and rear panel, gilt ruled, colored frontispiece with tissue guard, illustrated with 60 drawings by the author. Signed by the author on the second free endpaper. Previous owner's name in light pencil on FEP: William O. Cone. In good condition, though some of the plates are a little loose but holding. Naturalist and wildlife artist Ernest Thompson Seton was one of the founding pioneers of the Boy Scouts of America.
