The De Tomaso story begins with the 1959 US Grand Prix where Alejandro De Tomaso raced his first self-built single seater and continues to the development of race cars for Formulas 1, 2 , 3 and Formula Junior and racing sports cars for Indianapolis, Can-Am and GTs. The company then changed to road car manufacturing with the Vallelunga, Mangusta and a variety of Panteras. De Tomaso would subsequently go on to build an empire which included Ghia, Vignale, Maserati, Innocenti, Benelli and Moto Guzzi. The book provides a detailed account of production numbers and chassis numbers for the road and race cars and a comprehensive appendix of some 1100 race entries. The book, which was published with a sturdy slipcase, runs to 458 pages including 496 colour and black and white photographs. The book is a Limited Edition of 550 copies of which this is number 312.
