Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1965. A very good, signed collectible copy of the first edition of the second novel from this National Book Award nominated and Pulitzer Prize winning author. First Edition, First Printing as designated by First Edition printed on the copyright page. A very good, signed hardcover with light blue paper-covered boards, maroon cloth spine with gold stamping. Corners are bumped, and there is fading to top board edges. There are small indentions on the front cover and wear on the bottom board edges from typical shelving. Top stain a bit dirty but solid. Pencil erasure residue on the front free endpaper. Not ex-library, no previous owner markings, book plates, or remainder marks. Author signature and inscription to previous owner (a bookseller) on title page in blue ink. Very good, unclipped dust jacket with price ($4.95) encased in protective dust jacket cover. Flap corners and edges creased/bent or have some sunning, top corner of front flap has tear. Top and bottom of spine wrinkled, spine is faded with abrasion near top. Rear cover slightly dirty from wear and shelving. Encased in protective dust jacket cover. Included (in addition to first printing dust jacket) is facsimile dust jacket. Shipped in well-padded box.…
