About this Item

Signed by the auhor wih gift inscription on front flyleaf, dated March 26th, 1941. The author also wrote a note underneath, stating that they corrected two "publisher's errors" on pages 226 and 275 - and indeed, Johns made corrections in pen to these pages. Stated first edition. Hardcover, missing dust jacket. The book condition is Good+. Edges of textblock tanned and lightly foxed in spots. Light penmark on bottom edge of textblock. Otherwise, text is clean, unmarked and attractive. Binding and hinges good. Hardcover board corners turned in. Some minor blemishing to fabric on hardcover boards.
