Stated First Printing in original unclipped dust jacket, SIGNED by the author. The incredible story of the unsuccessful assassination attempt on the life of President-elect Abraham Lincoln in 1861. Clean red boards with black cloth spine, silver lettering on spine. Very light corner wear, no fraying. Binding is tight, hinges are sound, pages and edges are clean. Inscribed and signed by the author on front free endpaper: "To Harold Jansen with best regards, John Mason Potter." Foreword by Stefan Lorant. 200 pages with Bibliography. Clean jacket is not price clipped, has light surface rubbing, a few short closed edge tears and very shallow chipping at top spine edge; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover.
