Each 33 × 21.5cm, 182pp, 461pp, 769pp. The main text printed recto only with some footnotes printed on verso. Each volume has been signed to family members Rafael and Jacinta [surname Nadal, she née Castillejo, the author's sister]. Rafael Nadal, writer and journalist, close friend of Federico García Lorca (he was the last person to see him in Madrid in 1936). He married Jacinta Castillejo in 1934, daughter of the famous republican doctor José Castillejo and Jungian analyst Irene Claremont de Castillejo. A scarce and immense work of epistemology, with particular reference to the works of Isaac Newton. It's not an easy task to give an overall impression of the work as it is far-reaching but a summary of the contents are: Vol 1: The Medieval World; How medieval Artists Defined Space; Mechanics Transfer from Form to Space; Philosophy, Religion, and Society During the Later Middle Ages; Experiences in Astronomical Distances (an Interlude); The Great Event of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Newton the Whole man, on Structure. Vol one ends with writings on nature of structure. Vol 2: This volume continues Castillejo's writings on Newton, including writings on Newton's alchemy, prophecies, designs for the Temple of Solomon, his theology, in essence a biography of Newton's thought. Volume 3: This volume contains a study of Newton's Opticks, and a reconstruction of his work on Prophecy. This volume ends with two shorter essays on the future of mankind and education, and on art patronage. Condition: All three books are in good, strong readable condition. There is sunning to the cloth bindings but the inner bindings are secure and the pages are clean.
