First edition. Tall octavo. 158pp. Illustrations accompany several poems, and a large halftone portrait of Galin follows the copyright page. Blue cloth with pictorial onlay, bound and paginated in the Yiddish style. Text in Yiddish. Spine toned, loss at the corners and spine ends, small piece of newspaper adhered to cover panel, and a few other very small chips and stains, sound and near very good. The text has been well-preserved. Nicely Inscribed by the author in English: "With Compliments to Dr. N. W. Ackerman From a grateful patient. Rivke Galin (Mishkowsky)." (Likely the noted Jewish family therapist Dr. Nathan W. Ackerman.) Poetry for children. Rivke was born in what is now Bulagaria and lived in China for four years, but spent most of her adult life in the U.S. She was a well-known and well-loved author of short stories and poems whose work was often anthologized, sometimes even set to music and performed.
