Of this Edition printed at the Chiswick Press, Tooks Court, London, on English handmade paper, one hundred numbered copies, signed by the author, are for sale to private subscribers only. This is No. 47. Large 8vo. 9.75 x 6.75 inches. xii + 255 + [1] pp. colophon. Text in brown (titles, owl devices, headings, etc.) and black. Bound in full vellum with brown leather spine title label, gilt. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Minor wear to extremities with spotting of uncut edges, traces on flyleaves. and very occasionally in margins; otherwise a fine copy. Signed by author with the addition of his owl device above typed label, Issued to C. H. Rutter, Brighton. Decorated by owl device on title page, by colophon and by deer slot design in Introduction and leaf design at the start of each paragraph in text, all in brown. Very scarce copy of the first, signed limited edition of one hundred copies of Tarka the Otter. Begun by Williamson in June 1923, it was finished in February 1927 in the village of Ham, Devon (Matthews, Henry Williamson A Bibliography A8 1927a). FICTION WILLIAMSON LIT.
