Green hardcover with bright gilt title and drawing of a cabin on cover and bright title on spine. Bottom edges show light wear. SIGNED ON FFE: THE AUTHOR, EDWARD SMYTH JONES MARCH 6, 1913. Jones was born to slaves and fought for his education. He lived in Louisville, Ky for a time. The first poem, "The Sylvan Cabin" is an ode to Abraham Lincoln. This is gift quality.
