8vo. A lovely 1st Limited Edition copy of this scarce Poetry work by the Chesapeake Thoreau, with a page from his typed manuscript tipped in, and signed by the author twice. Byron was known as 'The Chesapeake Thoreau' and the 'Voice of the Chesapeake'. His eloquent poetry and prose captured perfectly the romantic, often difficult and sometimes perilous existence of the nearly extinct Chesapeake Bay waterman of the early to mid 20th century. This 1st Edition is just one of 100 copies signed and numbered by the author with an original page from Byron's manuscript tipped, page number 26. Byron has signed the piece on a special limitations page as well as written an inscription above his portrait on the following page. Near Fine in a Very Good dust jacket. Bound in blue cloth over boards. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Dust jacket with mild age toning and edge wear, with light foxing. Presents handsomely in archival mylar. Here are the people, the wildlife and the everyday trials and tribulations of a time long gone on Maryland's Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, captured in verse by the region's answer to Thoreau.…
