Add to basketThis offering is a vintage copy of The Story of Chan Yuc written by Dorothy Rhoads and illustrated by Jean Charlot. The book has also been INSCRIBED by Dorothy Rhoads in the top left hand corner of the front paste down end page. The book was published by Doubleday, Doran & Co. Inc. in 1941 and is a stated First Edition. The price on the dust jacket flap is 1.50. It's not an ex-library copy and both the book and the dust jacket are in good + condition to very good condition. There's some foxing to both the front and back end pages near the spine. Perhaps it's just the old glue making its presence known over the years., The book is 8 3/4" by 8 7/8" with about 50 pages and two- three- and four-color illustrations throughout the book "This is the true story of a baby brocket deer - who was born in a thick dark forest in faraway Yucatan and finally came to live in the zoo in Washington D. C. Chan Yuc - in the Mayan Indian language means Little-Deer-Who-Never-Grows-Up. For a brocket deer is a very small variety of deer which never grows much bigger than a rabbit." What a great gift for a classic illustrated children's book lover . . . even if it's yourself. Thank you!
