Stewart Island Verses, 'Southerner' (pseudonym of Samuel Gottlieb August) [1881-1941] pub. Invercargill N.Z. Craft Agency Company 1923. Octavo. 55 pp. Buff-coloured paper wrappers, yapp edges with mild wear, intermittent scattered foxing within, else a decent, solid copy of this scarce publication. Signed presentation inscription to the free endpaper 'To R. Mason esq from "Southerner"(S.G.August) 6/11/1929'. Gottlieb was a schoolteacher and then a bookseller in Invercargill.
