McIlvaine, M.D. with kind regards of the Author" Lewis Albert Sayre (1820-1900) was a New York surgeon arguably considered to be the father of American orthopaedic surgery. Shands (Early Orthopaedic Surgeons of America) felt Sayre should be considered the foremost orthopaedic surgeon of his time. Tear (mainly closed) on front cover near spinal fold, small chip, very good. Uncommon, especially signed.
