1825, 1st edition. Presentation copy - INSCRIBED by the author on the half-title in volume I. Four volumes. Small Octavo's. 13cm x 20cm approx. vii, 352pp; viii, 352pp; viii, 352pp; xii, 364pp. Uniform in contemporary speckled calf boards, neatly and sympathetically re-backed to match, gilt tooled. Some rubbing and minor surface wear to board extremities. Bindings square and firm. Heraldic bookplate to paste-down in volume IV. The bookplate in the first three volumes has been covered by the end papers when re-laid after the re-backing. Some foxing to end papers, otherwise generally clean within. A 'Very Good' set.
