6"x8.5", pp. ix, 244, [2], black and white illustrations with a full page map of Canada. This is a hardcover first edition without dust jacket. The cover boards exhibit color fading and foxing; spine is faded. Inscription by the author (dated 9/18/56) is written on the front free end paper: "To Tom and Betty [.] Regards, Sigurd F. Olson." Inside pages are relatively clean without visible markings. Previous owner has taped an article about Olson to the back free end paper. Hardcover bound with cream cloth boards; gold lettering and red deer on the cover.
