Bronze quarter cloth boards; tipped on title to front; some small adhesive stains around title card, else exterior like new. Uncut deckled fore edge; pictorial endpapers; numerous photographs and illustrations in red and black ink throughout. Signed by Mumey and numbered 234 of 300 on flyleaf. Very good condition. Three copies found in OCLC as of December 8, 2023. Signed limited edition copy of Easter Island by Nolie Mumey; the book covers the history of Easter Island, the famed statues, and the Indigenous people and their culture. Includes numerous photos of wood carvings made by the Rapa Nui, the Indigenous inhabitants of the island. Nolie Mumey (1891-1984) was an American medical doctor, Army veteran, licensed pilot, and prolific author. From the Denver Public Library Archives: "One of his favorite anecdotes involved his inability to provide directions to Denver's downtown post office. This proved to be such an embarrassment, Mumey vowed to learn everything there was to know about Denver.
