Signed by Bill Wilson - Alcoholics Anonymous First Edition Big Book 12th Printing from 1948 A Rare and Personal Connection to Bill W. First Edition, Twelfth Printing (1948) of Alcoholics Anonymous, inscribed by AA cofounder Bill Wilson. On the front endpaper, Wilson has written simply: ?Affectionately, Bill. - NY / 2/4/55? While thousands of Big Books were printed and distributed in the 1940s, only a very small number were personally signed or inscribed by Bill. Each one represents a direct and intimate connection to the man who not only co-founded Alcoholics Anonymous but also authored much of this very text. For collectors and AA members alike, owning a signed copy of the First Edition is among the most meaningful ways to hold a tangible piece of AA?s legacy. Collector?s Significance First edition printings of the Big Book are scarce, and inscribed copies are rarer still. The Twelfth Printing, published in 1948 by Works Publishing Inc., represents an important point in AA?s history as the fellowship expanded rapidly in the post-war years. This copy retains its original dust jacket?a rarity in itself?though it shows edge wear, chips, and tears consistent with age. The book itself is in very good condition, with solid boards, legible gilt on the spine, and only light wear. Interior pages are clean aside from the signed and inscribed leaf, which makes this copy truly stand out. Inscribed copies like this are seldom offered on the open market, and this example represents a unique opportunity to acquire one of the most historically important AA collectibles.
