First edition, first impression, signed by Eric Newby on a plate to the ffep; superb in a very collectable dustwrapper, and scarce, thus. Near Fine+: tight and square binding in clean and sharp rust-coloured cloth; modest foxing to the edge of the page block and a little browning to the endpapers, else bright, crisp and clean throughout; immaculate fold-out maps to the rear. The clipped dustwrapper is very nearly Fine, with just the mildest touch of rubbing to the spine tips and corners: bright and vibrant with no fading, tears or loss; presented in a removable, archival-quality Brodart protective cover. A lovely copy with by far the nicest wrapper we have seen. All orders are sent very carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard.
