First Edition (NAP). Once listed, this will be the Only signed copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. Shakespeare & Son is the first book in a trilogy ('an imaginative creation rooted in historical fact') that the author, Edward Fisher, described as 'an attempt to imagine what it was like in Stratford-on-Avon when the eldest son of John Shakespeare was beginning the long war he had to win before he could even hope to conquer his greatest antagonist-himself'. The book is Signed and amusingly inscribed by Mr. Fisher on the first front end paper 'with gratitude to Major Lewin from Ed Fisher who always knew better than to write about Shakespeare, Ed Fisher'. I did some 'research' on the second and third novels (Love's Labour's Won & The Best House in Stratford) curious to see whether there were signed copies for sale. It turns out there are no signed copies of either of those titles for sale on the Internet. I've rated both the book and the dust jacket Near Fine. You can see the covers of the book itself in the photographs provided. They are very clean and they have almost no wear at all, a tiny crease at the bottom corner of the rear cover. This book is square, straight and very solidly bound, no binding issues of any kind. The interior of the book appears to be in perfect condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. I didn't see any soiling. They are also free of any creasing or dogeared corners. There aren't any markings or attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can also see the dust jacket in the first few photographs. It has a tiny bit of soiling. The spine is tanned. Other than that it's pretty close to perfect. It is NOT price-clipped. The price is at the top of the front flap. For some reason there is a small neat clip at the bottom of the front flap. The dust jacket will be fitted with a protective cover. Seller Inventory # 001537
