Uber-scarce in the trade, there being only one additional copy in this SIGNED state available on-line currently. Green printed paper wraps, in gatefold, abrasion thereto at spine, moderate rubbing. 7 1/4" x 5" tall and wide, respectively. Warm inscription to the previous owner, the Classics expert, Peter Morris Green, "To Peter Green, from Patric Dickinson, 12/12/57." Then laid in is separate note, also dated 12/12/57 and sent from 38 Church Square, Rye, Sussex, thanking Professor Green for, among other things, a kind T.L.S. (Times Literary Supplement) review of a prior work. He proposes a meeting at the Savile! His Wikipedia entry notes that Patric Thomas Dickinson (26 December 1914 ? 28 January 1994) "was a British poet, translator from the Greek and Latin classics, and playwright." He worked for the B.B.C. from 1942 to 1948, which is how he might have met Professor Green. Mr. Dickinson was born in Nasirabad, India, he published an autobiography in 1965 and also plentiful works in the Phoenix Living Poets series, including "The World I See (1960); This Cold Universe (1964); More Than Time (1970); A Wintering Tree (1973); The Bearing Beast (1976); Our Living John (1979); A Rift in Time (1982).
