Elephant folio original binding 1/2 vellum gilt decoration1/2 light brown cloth gilt title and emblem 37.7cmx53cm some age wear but very tight 2pp title page ,list of plates 53 plates on 37pp no pages trimmed.All plates except 3,36,37 are signed as designed by c coleman. Almost all plates have dates,1848,1849 or 1850. They show herdsman with buffaloes,oxen,bulls,cows,sheep goats in the Roman Campagna, Two large plates show herdsmen driving their animals in the cityThe Camargna was one of the main areas English courtiers visited on the Grand Tour.I find it difficult to value this item ,some of the large plates sell for £400. I wish for a quick sale ie 14days or i will send to auction,willing to consider sensible offers,pic to follow week endALL THE PLATES ARE ON ROYAL ACADAMY OF ARTS SITE CHARLES COLEMAN,I found them under GOATS HEADS? Their plates are not signed like mine.Snsible offers considered.
