First edition, first printing, signed and inscribed by Senghor, the first President of independent Senegal. Full green cloth covered boards with gilt spine title in publisher's unclipped dust jacket. A fine bright copy, the only marking being Senghor's signed inscription to the half title that reads "Au Professeur Hazard en homage (illegible, date?) Leopold Senghor". Unclipped dust jacket is in fine condition with modest edgewear. A sharp copy of the Selected Poems of Senghor here translated in English for the first time translated by John Reed and Clive Wake. Uncommon signed.
