Item description from seller

First edition, first impression of the 1978 Booker Prize winner, signed by Iris Murdoch on a plate to the title page. Very Good+: firm and square binding in sharp green cloth; pushed and a little rubbed to the heel of the spine; toning to the edge of the page block, with light foxing to the top-edge and some minor sporadic spots to the fore-edge, else crisp and clean. The clipped, first-state dustwrapper is Near Fine: crisp and vibrant; minor wrinkling to the top corners; a little toning to the top edge, visible only on the flaps; tiny chip to the bottom of the rear panel (3mm x 10mm); presented in a removable, archival-quality Brodart protective cover. A nice copy with the distinction of the author's signature. All orders are sent very carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard.
