As Okinawa were invaded on 1st april 1945, it was the task of British Pacfic Fleet to keep the airstrips on the Sakishima Gunto inoperable. Like the forgotten Army in Burma, as they fought alongside the Americans, Task Force 57 became known as the Forgotten Fleet. A tale told by many voices, along with the writer's own.
