The author has inscribed this volume on the title page. The person to whom the book was inscribed affixed what looks like a return address label to the front free end paper. There are 182 pages to this volume with color photographs and black-and-white maps related to the six year voyage, of which five months are covered in the book, to Antarctica. There is smallest curl to the cover edges at the corners, but the spine is not creased and the book is clean internally and externally. The book is square and tight.
