(Christian Science Monitor) This book won the Benjamin Franklin Award from the Independent Book Publishers Association for best inspirational memoir, USRowing gave him the Golden Oars Award for achieving measurable success in expanding the diversity of the sport, and the documentary A Most Beautiful Thing narrated by the rap star Common and produced by former NBA stars Grant Hill and Dwyane Wade was based on this.
