This work is a delightful collection of poems that take a second, mid-20th century look at thirty familiar fairy-tales and nursery rhymes. Each poem is set in traditional sonnet form, and offers a wry, often funny, sometimes poignant reflection on the complexities of human nature as seen in contemporary terms. The author states that these poems are not for children. Illustrations are included. This HARDCOVER copy is SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, inscribed on the FFEP to Richard Armour, author and satirist, and his wife, Kathleen, and is clean and solid.
