About the Author

Eddie S. Howell was born in San Diego, California on Valentine's day in 1949. He has lived in the beautifully planned city of Irvine, California since 1984 which is surrounded by crystal blue lakes, parks full of gigantic eucalyptus trees and filled with jogging and bike trails going everywhere. As a child he lived a lot of his youth in the farming communities of Northern California. When Eddie was a kid he moved around a lot. In kindergarten through 3rd grade he went to schools in Richmond, Concord, San Martin, and Salinas. In 4th through 6th grade he attended Severance and Rucker Schools in Gilroy. In 7th through 9th grade he went to P.A. Walsh junior high and Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill. Finally, he graduated at Amador High School in the once small but absolutely gorgeous growing town of Pleasanton. While in the country as a kid or stationed in Africa as an adult, he was always surrounded by insects and was always fascinated by them. Once, he was in the Army at Kagnew Air Station located in Asmara, Ethiopia he spotted a large tarantula spider while walking to the mailroom. Another time he was assigned to clean out an Army bunker and captured a 7-8 inch huge thick tan colored centipede in Fort Hood, Texas. Inspired one day on a bike ride with his loving wife Evelyn, she suggested that he write his stories down and leave them as a legacy to their grandchildren. As a Christian, an athlete, and an armed forces veteran, many of his own life experiences have been included in several of the character portrayals in this first of many insect stories.
