Katherine Rundell – Impossible Creatures Waterstones Signed Exclusive Edition | First Edition, First Printing | Bloomsbury, 2023 A highly desirable early collectible edition of Katherine Rundell’s Impossible Creatures, published by Bloomsbury in 2023. This is the original Waterstones Signed Exclusive Edition, ISBN 9781526668981, and one of the earliest premium editions of the book. It is the true UK first edition, first printing, confirmed by the complete number line: 2 4 6 8 10 9 7 5 3 1 This edition was issued with a specially designed bound-in signature page signed by Katherine Rundell, printed with the wording “Signed by the Author”. It is therefore the official publisher-issued signed edition rather than a standard trade copy signed later at an event. It also features the distinctive Waterstones-exclusive illustrated page edges, richly illustrated endpapers and map artwork, red boards, and the original dust jacket with the Waterstones Signed Exclusive Edition sticker still present. For collectors of Impossible Creatures, this is one of the most important early issues to own: signed, exclusive, first edition and first printing, from the very beginning of the series. The book presents very well overall. There is a small nick to the top edge of one board, shown clearly in the photographs. This is a minor cosmetic flaw only and does not materially detract from what is otherwise a very attractive copy. The boards remain bright, the illustrated edges display strongly, the pages are clean, and the signed page is crisp and presentable. The dust jacket is bright and attractive, with the original Waterstones sticker intact. The book is now housed in a clear protective poly sleeve added by the seller to help protect the dust jacket. This is not original publisher shrink-wrap. The photographs show the exact copy being offered and form part of the condition description. A scarce and highly collectible early signed issue of one of the most important modern children’s fantasy titles. A scarce and highly collectible early signed issue of one of the most important modern children’s fantasy titles, combining the original Waterstones Signed Exclusive Edition, Katherine Rundell’s signature and the true UK first printing.…
