Probable first edition (no direct statement upon copyright page) SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. xx, 193 pages. Paperback: H 21.25cm x L 13.5cm. Paper covers well rubbed with some scuffing along edges; top corner of orange front cover creased; strong browning along spine presumably from the binding glue; mild toning at top of white rear cover with a few rear leaves showing some faint toning as well. Interior pages are otherwise bright and clean. Binding is firm. A good+ copy with Vansword's signature upon the title page. Summarized on the rear cover as an "intimate glimpse into the life of a youthful Polish soldier at the outbreak of World War II." ISBN 0917200225.
