xviii+344, uncut fore-edge; front endpaper inscribed 'To Professor Gibson/ With very kind regards/ from The Author/Oct.1913', cloth split along front gutter now mostly closed with tear archival transparent tear repair tape but some netting still visible towards top, similar, but slight and untreated, paper splitting to rear gutter, both endpapers heavily tanned (but not pastedowns); there may be very faint traces of erased marginal pencil lines up to c. p.14, after which they appear to have ceased, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked. Covers clean, fairly bright and minimally worn. A survey of Scottish philosophy and philosophers from Hutcheson to James Ferrier with an additional chapter on aesthetic theories. Extremely scarce though several current paperback reprints (all unsigned of course!).
