First edition with the publisher's monogramatic colophon device on the copyright page .Author inscribed and signed in the year of issue presentation / association copy to the author's second wife of some 20 years, literary agent Jean Wick. The author's inscription at the top of the front free endpaper reads "a book for Jean / although it's lousy / Achmed A / Jan 1927". The author's [reportedly self-designed] bi-lingual Achmed Abdullah bookplate is affixed to the front paste-down. Jean Wick's bookplate is affixed to the front free endpaper [under her husband's inscription]. Red cloth with black lettering, 266 pages. Faith Baldwin possibly an uncredited co-author. Faith Baldwin is known to have co-written some of Achmed Abdullah's books. Sources disagree on exactly which ones, with some sources including this title among them. Good or better copy with some toning to the somewhat cocked spine which is also lightly bumped at its ends, fore-edge creasing to a blank leaf at the rear with some fore-edge foxing to the preceding blank leaf, paper tanned.
