251 p. illus. 22 cm. Includes Illustrations. First American edition. Hardcover. Octavo. 251pp. Bound in original cloth-backed boards with dust jacket. An exceptional copy featuring an authorial inscription signed by Christopher Hibbert laid down (glued) onto the half-title page. This specific copy serves as the original review copy sent to Carl J. White, who reviewed the title for both the Washington Post and the Times Herald. It includes the original publisher's review slip accompanied by a handwritten note from White confirming his reviews for these newspapers. Very good in good dust jacket. Signed by author. Book is very good with crisp text and solid binding; dust jacket is good plus, showing moderate shelf wear, light edge wear, and a few tiny chips, but remains unclipped with the original price intact.
