Item description from seller

Rare monograph challenging concensus critics of the historical record; composed response and signed by Otto Eisenschiml at title page: "Sincerely, Otto Eisenschiml." Very attractive. Sienna washed with a ruddy red boards, cream titled plate to cover, moderate shelf, corner wear, rub. Heavy stock leaves, near fine; no writing. String-bind, fine. Protected in clear sleeve. Rare sharp signed first edition. In this paper addressed to critics of his book "Why Was Lincoln Murdered?", Otto Eisenschiml politely takes aim at establishment historians. His first and most pivotal book peeled back the layers of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and layed out the conspiracy. The deadly act was much more than a lone gunman actor played by John Wilkes Booth. Many parties were involved in the planning and aftermath including those at Lincoln's right and left hand side. Features a foreword laying out the milieu of this forum at The William L. Clements Library in Ann Arbor on The University of Michigan campus. The address from Eisenschiml and discussion following lasted throughout the night of Feb. 9, 1940. Preeminent historians and scholars from the university were in attendance, the historical critics who made their hollow jabs though their written reviews were not. 22 pages. Insured post. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" Tall.
