1989, 1991, 1997. Three volumes: Retrospective, Retrospective II, Retrospective III. Three volumes. The first volume is a second printing, and the second and third volumes are first editions. Signed by Tom of Finland on the title page of the first volume. Bound in publisher's black cloth lettered in silver. Near Fine, with contents of volume one shaken. Light wear and rubbing to dust jackets, a large closed tear to the rear panel of the first volume and a crease to the rear flap of the second volume. A collection of Finnish artist Touko Valio Laaksonen's homoerotic fetish work, who published under the pseudonym Tom of Finland. He was hailed as "the most influential creator of gay pornographic images," and although his work was not originally percieved as high art, several of his works have been acquired by New York's Museum of Modern Art. Paperback. Condition: Acceptable. Mill Pond Press [Published date: 1991-1992]. 3 Volumes, Vol. I: 1978-1982, Vol. 2: 1983 -1986, Vol. 3: 1987 -1991. Each volume with full color reproductions of Bateman's limited editions, each with a brief description by Batement, as well as the dimensions of the original. All 3 volumes are in acceptable+ condition with bumping and some creasing to edges and corners of covers and moderate overall scuffing, soiling and spotting to covers as well. All bindings are nice and tight. Volumes 1 and II have some light waviness from moisture exposure and volume 2 has a hint of dampstaining along the top corner of the last few pages. Volume 1 has some spotting to the top edge of the text block and title page. Otherwise interior pages are clean, bright and unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. Overall a good set of reading copies.
